Registry of Trade Unions
The Registry of Trade Unions (RTU) administers the Trade Unions Ordinance and
Trade Union Registration Regulations, with a view to fostering sound trade union management and responsible trade unionism, ensuring trade unions’ compliance with the law and their respective rules. The
major areas of work of the RTU include:
- registering trade unions;
- registering rules of trade unions;
- examining trade unions' annual statements of account and any other returns required by the law to be furnished to the RTU; and
- organising educational and promotional programmes to enhance the understanding of trade union officials and staff on national security and trade union administration.
