Labour Advisory Board Election of Employee Representatives 2024

The current term of the Labour Advisory Board (LAB) Note will expire on 31 December 2024. An election to return five employee representatives, who will be appointed for two years ending 31 December 2026 for the 2025-2026 term, will be held as follows:

Date : 16 November 2024 (Saturday)
Time : Authorised representatives appointed by registered electors may cast their votes from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Venue : Mei Foo Community Hall

During the nomination period from 23 September to 15 October 2024, the Labour Department received 10 valid nominations of candidates from employee unions registered under the Trade Unions Ordinance. The candidates, listed in the order of receipt of nomination forms by the Labour Department, are:

1. Ms Lai Mei Chu Julie Chairman, Rights Association of Hawker Control Officers
2. Mr Chong Yuk Shing Chairman, Hong Kong Security Guards Alliance
3. Ms Lai Na President, Hong Kong Social Welfare Employees Association
4. Mr Lee Kwok Kin Kenneth Chairman, Civil Servants Union of Housing Department
5. Mr Li Siu Bun Vice President, Hong Kong Clerical and Professional Employees General Union
6. Ms Tam Kam Lin Vice Chairman, The Federation of Hong Kong & Kowloon Labour Unions
7. Mr Lam Wai Kong President, Motor Transport Workers General Union
8. Mr Koon Kei Hung Frenky Chairman, Hong Kong Airport Baggage Handlers Union
9. Mr Yeung Wai Leung Chairman, Union of Government School Teachers
10. Mr Fung Chuen Chung Chairman, Hong Kong Civil Servants General Union

A total of 867 employee unions registered as electors have appointed authorised representatives to vote in the election.
