The CEOHKO regulates contracts entered into in Hong Kong by manual employees and those non-manual employees with monthly wages not exceeding $20,000 who are employed to work outside Hong Kong by foreign employers. A concerned employee and his/her employer should enter into a written contract which must be presented to the Labour Department for attestation before the departure of the employee. The Labour Department may require a person who is a permanent resident in Hong Kong to furnish a bond or guarantee for the performance of the contract by the employer before attesting the contract. |
